The University of Houston Police Department recently honored its former Chief of Police, Malcolm Davis by presenting him with a challenge coin for his dedicated service. A challenge coin is a small coin or medallion traditionally given as a symbol of appreciation and camaraderie within an organization. 

The challenge coin is a special recognition of Chief Davis' leadership and contributions to the department and the University. It is a way for the department to acknowledge Chief Davis' hard work, dedication, and commitment to the department's Mission, Vision, and Core Values. 

The presentation of the challenge coin is a tradition that symbolizes the respect and admiration that UHPD has for Chief Davis and his service. Chief Davis served as Chief of Police for UHPD from 2005 through 2012, and after his time as Chief of Police, Malcolm Davis went on to serve as Assistant Vice Chancellor/Assistant Vice President for Campus Safety until his retirement in 2020. 

"Malcolm Davis served the University of Houston Police Department with distinction, and his contributions to the department and University community will never be forgotten,” said Chief Ceaser Moore. 

“Chief Davis' contributions to the department have left a lasting impact, and we are grateful for his service."
